III. Catalog Course Description

A study of structural drafting procedures. Course activities will focus on the use of elemental building materials (concrete, steel, and wood) and how they are used in engineering principles in fabricating structures. The different uses of each of these materials will also be discussed.

  • Wood & Wood Composites and their various uses, forms, and terminology
  • Fastening methods to include standard fastners and welding symbols

SECTION 8, CHAPT 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, Misc. review of DRAT 156, 152 Chapter 43, 45 Worksheets to enforce proper use of symbols and/or procedures used by the structural drafting industry. One large project using the three basic materials and how they are placed in a typical structure.
