NURP 135 Developing Family
This course will Introduce health issues specific to women throughout the lifespan as well as pediatric patients from newborn to adolescence. A Study of nursing cares to meet the needs of these unique individuals and their families during growth and development will be emphasized to preserve, promote, and restore their overall health status. The nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care is utilized to meet the needs of these patients.

This course will Introduce health issues specific to women throughout the lifespan as well as pediatric patients from newborn to adolescence. - Identify methods to promote health prior to, during, and after pregnancy
- Understand basic labor and delivery processes
- Understand care of the high-risk pregnant woman, newborn, and families with special needs
- Deliver care to the pregnant client and newborn
- Promote health for infants, children, and adolescents
- Provide basic pediatric nursing care
- Care for a child with physical, mental, and or cognitive disorders
- Care for a woman with reproductive disorders
