III. Catalog Course Description

A study in general service and installation of gas, oil, and electrical resistance heating systems installed in residential and light commercial structures. Instruction will cover system controls, consumption and combustion fuels, warm air systems, duct work, hydronic systems, piping, and heat loads

Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the electrical system of Gas, Oil, and Electrical Furnaces
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the basic componenets that make up a Gas, Oil, and Electrical furnace.
  • Exhibit a working knowledge of control devices used in Gas, Oil and Electrical furnaces.
  • Display basic diagnostic procedures
  • Exhibit critical thinking and problem solving in diagnosing systems
