		SMA welding to include fillet and groove welds in all positions to the AWS standards. Successfully completing this course may lead to certification.
	 
		IV. Student Learning Outcomes
	
		Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to: 
			- Complete with 7 5% accuracy an AWS SENSE Module4 Exam
- SMA welding in 2G, 3G, and 4G positions using E6010 or E7018, with or without a backing strip using (A3 material x 3/8 in thick) in accordance with visual acceptance criteria stated in AWSD1
- Identify and explain different types of welding current and polarity
- Perform safety inspections of SMAW equipment and accessories
- Maintain SMAW equipment and accessories
- Produce welds using SMAW on carbon steel
- Setup for SMAW operations
- Operate SMAW equipment
- Perform welds in the 1F position
- Perform welds in the 2F position
