Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Identify and define disease-causing organisms of fish and classify them as viral, bacterial, fungal, parasitic or environmental.
- Identify common signs of fish suffering from a disease.
- Select different treatment methods for appropriate diseases and chemicals.
- Write and solve treatment calculations and calculate water flow rates.
- Explain ways to prevent disease or how to manage disease once it is established.
- Demonstrate the importance and application of biosecurity precautions.
