The history, philosophy and cultural diversity principles related to Law Enforcement
An understanding of homeland security issues and how to access federal agencies
An understanding of the issues surrounding Miranda as it relates to law enforcement
First Aid and CPR techniques
Principles, Skills and techniques of surviving the job of police officer
Understand that public safety personnel must satisfy the expectations of public trust
An insight into the history, law, and procedural options as it relates to juveniles
Knowledge of grieving process and proper death notification procedures
Knowledge of and ability to implement effective communication skills
Basic knowledge of illegal drugs to include visual identification, scheduling, classification, symptoms associated with use and drug trends in Idaho
Basic understanding of the criminal gangs found in Idaho
Basic understanding of Idaho Codes dealing with drugs and how to gather intelligence regarding drug use
Understand the basics of auto theft investigation and financial crimes
A basic understating of digital evidence retrieval
Introduce basic patrol academy students to principles and skill of general uniformed patrol operations and call response
Gain insight to different approaches to policing
Identify the components and benefits of crime prevention
Basic knowledge of healthy lifestyle choices to include healthy nutrition, stress management, and following a fitness plan
