The College of Southern Idaho (CSI) welcomes all individuals seeking its educational programs and services. The College of Southern Idaho is an open-door, equal-opportunity institution. Degree-Seeking Students

Application Requirements: Degree-Seeking Students

  1. Be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Submit a completed application for admission.
  3. Meet with an enrollment specialist for first-semester advising and registration.
  4. Provide proof of high school completion or equivalent if requested. (Students who apply for financial aid or limited programs should submit their high school transcript or GED certificate to the Admissions Office.)
  5. Transfer students must submit official college transcript (s) from all colleges attended to receive credit for previously earned or completed work. Students who apply for federal financial aid are required to submit all official college transcripts.

Acceptance to limited enrollment majors at CSI

Some CSI programs have additional admission requirements, including a mechanical reasoning test. Students applying for limited-enrollment programs should contact the Enrollment Services Department to complete admission requirements.

Please note: All students enrolled in a career technical course or program must have a lawful status to participate.

Non-Degree Students

Non-degree-seeking applicants are permitted to take coursework at CSI but are not eligible for federal financial aid. This option is designed for students who wish to take courses for personal enrichment or professional development rather than to complete a degree or certificate.

International Students

International applicants are those students holding F, M, and J visas. This school is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant students. International applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate acceptable levels of English proficiency through an approved examination or institutional review in order to be admitted. Examples of approved examinations include TOEFL, Duolingo.com and IELTS (see csi.edu/international-students/ for specific scores) or demonstration of acceptable proficiency on the CSI ESL Placement exam. Additionally, students falling below levels of examination-defined proficiency or who are unable to provide placement information, may request a case-by-case institutional review, on the recommendation of an institutional faculty or staff member.

Submit the international student application for admission and meet the requirements specified below before an I-20 will be issued. Students must make an appointment with the American Consulate and take the I-20, along with all other admission documents, in order to obtain a student visa.

  • Submit an International Student Application.
  • Submit your current Passport and/or Visa.
  • Submit official transcripts from high school, and all colleges attended. Your transcripts must be translated in English.
  • Submit TOEFL, Duolingo.com, IELTS or the CSI ESL placement exam scores.
  • Submit certification of finances and bank statement in US dollars. This must be sent directly from your bank to the College of Southern Idaho.
  • Pay the SEVIS fee.
  • If applicable, pay the deposit before registering for classes.
  • Transfer students- submit a copy of I-94.
  • Transfer students- submit the International Student Transfer Eligibility form.

Additional Information

As a student at the College of Southern Idaho, it is your responsibility to accurately self-report all information on the admissions application. Failure to disclose and submit accurate information could result in disciplinary action including but not limited to denial of admission and or dismissal from the institution. In addition, certifying false or misleading information could result in fines of $20,000, being sent to prison, or both.  

The following procedures are used by the institution to verify the accuracy of self-reported information provided by the student. 

High School transcripts that are submitted: 
CSI may check with the high school to confirm the validity of the student’s diploma: and 
Confirm with the relevant department or agency in the state in which the secondary school is located that the secondary school is recognized as a provider of secondary school education.  

Official transcripts must be directly sent from the educational institution to ensure their authenticity and validate the student’s high school/college completion.
