This course is a co-requisite with MUSI 201 Music Theory 3. It continues the development of both solfege ability and aural perception of intervals, rhythms, chords, and chord progressions.

Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:

  • Intuitively understand harmony and melody involving specific harmonic functions
  • Improvise (singing) on specific harmonic functions
  • Hear written music in their inner ear, facilitating a high level of music literacy
  • Evaluate musical strengths and weaknesses and create plans to improve
