III. Catalog Course Description
This is an advanced study in fisheries management problems and procedures and is a continuation of AQUA 104 - Practicum 1. Problems/projects are assigned according to experience, interest, and needs of individual student or on-the-job training.
IV. Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Design and assemble Hatchery management charts for record keeping.
- Experiment with hatchery conditions to obtain optimal growth and feed conversion rate.
- Assess fish health and propose solutions for any concerns
- Perform sample counts and inventory groups of fish.
- Practice acting as a supervisor of assigned projects and reports
- Design a working hatchery blueprint
- Design and build necessary equipment for use at the facility (feeders, screens, cages, etc).
- Operate pumps, sprayers and other mechanical equipment commonly used in the industry.
