HORT 234 Greenhouse Management*
	This hands-on course allows students to produce floral, bedding and foliage plants in a state-of-the-art greenhouse on campus at the College of Southern Idaho while managing cultural requirements for a variety of plants. All greenhouse types will be investigated as well as structures, controls, and practices pertaining to the management and maintenance of a production greenhouse in the horticulture industry.

		This hands-on course allows students to produce floral, bedding and foliage plants in a state-of-the-art greenhouse on campus at the College of Southern Idaho while managing cultural requirements for a variety of plants. All greenhouse types will be investigated as well as structures, controls, and practices pertaining to the management and maintenance of a production greenhouse in the horticulture industry.

		Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to: 
			- Identify components and materials of common greenhouses.
- Recommend heating requirements for different types of greenhouses.
- Recommend cooling requirements for different types of greenhouses.
- Identify pests and diseases common to greenhouse plants.
- Diagnose problems with greenhouse mechanisms and processes.
- Produce a plant from seed through transplants to saleable size.   
- Propagate different plant varieties used for greenhouse production.
- Manage a hydroponics growing system.
